Letter from the President

Dear colleagues, dear friends

We have four major goals to pursue in the coming year.

A  We are looking for a suitable successor or successor organisation for Silvia Becker. Silvia Becker will pass on the business of the ISDS in good order before she takes her well-deserved retirement.

B  We will update and maintain the membership system.

C  We will optimise the website.

D  We will continue to plan the annual meetings more in advance, with the involvement of the respective national dermatosurgery societies and, last but not least, our industry partners (Global Industry Council).

The 43rd ISDS Annual Meeting will take place from 13-15 September 2024 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan

Please enter the meeting in your agenda as follows:

09-11 September 2024 Excursion
12 September 2024 Workshops
13-15 September 2024 Scientific Program

The 44th ISDS Annual Meeting will take place from 16-18 October 2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Please enter the meeting in your agenda as follows:

12-14 October 2025 Excursion
15 October 2025 Workshops
16-18 October 2025 Scientific Program

The scientific committees for 2024 and 2025, one for oncological dermatosurgery and one for aesthetic dermatosurgery, are now getting to work immediately so that the speakers can mark their agenda well in advance, our loyal industry partners can be informed in good time and the CMEs for the scientific program can be obtained in good time.

Meanwhile, we on the Board are already planning the medium-term future of the subsequent ISDS Annual Meetings and Spring Symposia. We will always keep you up to date.

Best wishes!

JĂĽrg Hafner (President of the ISDS)

Committed To Excellence

The International Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ISDS) is a worldwide forum for dermatologists who offer surgical treatment to their patients. In addition, the ISDS brings dermatologic surgeons together to exchange innovative techniques and work for standardization and improvement of training programs in dermatologic surgery.

The ISDS encourages continuing education and research in dermatologic and cosmetic surgery and related fields through an Annual scientific Congress. Together, they may exchange innovative techniques and work for standardization and improvement of training programs in dermatologic surgery. The ISDS encourages continuing education and research in dermatologic and cosmetic surgery and related fields through an Annual scientific Congress.

Position Paper of the ISDS

The ISDS stands for clinical and scientific exchange in the field of dermatosurgery:

  • oncological dermatosurgery
  • aesthetic dermatosurgery

The ISDS fosters personal and honest professional exchange between experienced dermatosurgeons and teaches dermatosurgery to future generations of physicians who wish to deepen their knowledge in this field.

Humanity and friendship form the foundation of the ISDS. Numerous pioneers and renowned physicians in their field have so far shaped the program of the annual congresses and courses, which are extremely well worth attending.

Since 2022, two particularly gruesome wars have shaken the foundations of international law and the rule of law.

ISDS stands up for international law and condemns all states and politicians who disregard international law.

ISDS stands up for the rule of law and condemns all states and politicians who disregard the rule of law.

Physicians respect human beings and human life, regardless of origin, religion and other imprints.

ISDS condemns wars of aggression and supports states that have to defend themselves against a war of aggression.

ISDS supports Ukraine.

ISDS condemns terrorism.

ISDS condemns all forms of racism.

ISDS also specifically condemns any form of anti-Semitism.

ISDS stands with Israel.

ISDS supports the concept of the two-state solution, which unfortunately is difficult to realize under the current political circumstances.
